The OnePlus 2 was announced this week to much fan fare and mixed emotions. One thing that stuck out was the exclusion of LTE-TDD bands for the Europe/India GSM model. Most notably, Band 40 2300MHz which is used by Airtel India.
Having scoped the OnePlus forums for the past few weeks, I saw that a OnePlus Administrator (Helen) advised that there is a mistake and the EU/India variant does indeed have 4G LTE Band 40. The problem is that OnePlus’ official site still omitted this band.
Well I have great news for OnePlus fans in India! OnePlus has corrected the error and LTE-TDD Bands 38, 40, and 41 are now added. I’ve made the update to the website and you will now see that the OnePlus 2 IS indeed compatible with 4G LTE in India.
